My Words: importing vocabulary from Excel
Add many words to My Words at once with the Excel template.
What it does
The Excel import adds many words to My Words in one step instead of typing them one by one.
Steps
1. Open My Words - the Learning Journal in the sidebar - and choose "Import words from Excel" (or "Download template" first).
2. Download the template. It has one sheet, Words, with these columns: title, item_type, meaning, definition_en, explanation, example, common_mistake, correct_form, tags.
3. Fill one row per word. The title is required; fill as many other columns as you like.
4. Choose the module the words belong to, upload the file and check the preview.
5. Confirm to save. Nothing is saved before you confirm, and the whole file is saved together.
Rules
Use an .xlsx file of up to 2 MB and up to 1000 rows. Cells with formulas are refused - type plain values. Words you already have, and repeats inside the file, are skipped and listed in the preview. Problems are reported by row and column so you can fix the file and upload it again.
