Course chat
Join a course chat, read and post messages, mute notifications, and how announcement and open modes work.
Joining and leaving
Every teacher course has a chat. Open the course and choose "Course chat". If you can open the course, you can join its chat with "Join chat". Only members, the course teacher and AeroESP administrators can read it. You can leave at any time with "Leave chat"; you can join again later.
Unread badges
The sidebar shows a badge with the number of unread messages in the chats you belong to. The count also appears on each course card. Messages are marked read when you open the chat.
Muting
"Mute notifications" removes a chat from the sidebar badge. The unread count still shows on the course itself. Choose "Unmute notifications" to turn the badge back on.
Announcement and open modes
In announcement mode only the teacher posts and members read. In open mode every member can post. The course teacher chooses the mode at the top of the chat, and can delete any message.
Good to know
Messages are plain text, up to 2000 characters. New messages appear on their own while the page is open. Posting is limited to 10 messages a minute.
